Pros

Absolutely nothing. Everything about this place was a night mare.

Cons

Staff of 6 employees (3 of which are lifelong friends of the owner), so you are overworked. Extra duties include serving clients food and cleaning the facility . Clients do not get help they need because staff is always busy. Clients complain daily and do not comply with program policy due to dislike of the program. Everything is on paper and desktop computers, so work will be old fashioned and take longer to process. No benefits. Clients make threatening and suggestive comments to staff daily without repercussion. Owner is somewhat socially awkward and will impede on clients ability to get services through group interruptions and disruptions to tell “jokes”.

Pros

The clients are wonderful, getting to spend time with them was my favorite part

Cons

William- the director cannot communicate well, he doesn’t trust anyone, he will judge you if you give the slightest bit of information out that he doesn’t agree with. He is unprofessional he is the reason why the turn over rate is so high- he is barely holding this program together and I don’t know how he is licensed to work with people with mental health issues because he was the least understanding boss I’ve ever had. He hires based on who he thinks will comply to him he doesn’t like anything to be challenged. Do not let him know anything about your mental or physical health he will find any reason to fire you if he thinks you might be “unreliable” which is how he sees people with mental health issues or chronic illness- if you are a client with mental health issues (it’s a mental health facility) he obviously is an advocate (or acts as if he is) but he made it very clear that if his employees have any mental or physical health issues he sees them as less than and unable to manage the job. (The job is not hard) he currently can’t retain staff and is barely capable of running this program. It’s very disappointing as it could be an amazing place. There is no real set program to go off of so the clients are constantly bored and there isn’t enough staff so they just wander around and come and go as they please. They don’t get the treatment or quality of life they deserve because the place is so understaffed and it’s understaffed because management/owner do not know what they are doing. The case managers also need more training, on a few occasions I saw clients being spoken to in a way that was unnecessarily aggressive.
