Cons
- - If diversity, equity, and inclusion is something that matters to you, do not let recruiters at Melio tell you that it is an area where the company invests its time. There is a glaring lack of diversity in the organization and an absence of investment in this area by leadership. - - Many candidates for quota-carrying roles are told by recruiters that employees hit their maximum variable compensation consistently: this is a lie - - There is a complete lack of transparency around pay practices despite many requests from employees and managers to understand how Melio determines compensation - - The company communicates a hybrid work environment with no hard requirements to be in office, but management will pressure you to come in at least 2-3 times a week and if you don’t, will bring it up extremely often - - Benefit packages are not rich and leave a lot to be desired (high premiums, especially for a single adult) - - Despite numerous requests across departments, there remains no way for an average employee to provide anonymous feedback about the company, management, or their Melio experience - - Poor cross functional communication. Despite having redundant meetings about a project, you will work on something for weeks or months only to learn that another team has been tackling the same challenge the entire time in a different way. - - No data integrity, no sources of truth for any data; this seems not to bother management even though it affects most GTM employees’ variable and bonus pay - - Money is being invested in the wrong places: spending on extravagant company events and numerous offsites but team members struggle to receive approval towards professional development opportunities and are not paid competitively - - No one takes ownership or responsibility for projects or important decisions. Your question will be passed between 5-10 leaders before you are given a response that often does not answer the question or simply falls back on the premise that the answer is “in the works.”
