Pros

Decent office and furniture, good work equipment (computer, etc), some snacks, sometimes free beer, a few nice and talented people.

Cons

Where to start? Lot's of micromanagement by the CEO, he acts like a know it all, and will not accept if he is incorrect. His ego is huge and his attitude and demeanor can change in an instant. He is very brash and will insert himself into any conversation, without remorse, to make his point as to why he's right and you're wrong. The CEO is very egotistical, it makes the entire workplace very toxic. There are no real processes in place, though, the CBO (Chief Business Officer) was working to improve this. There's also no HR department either, the CBO, is the HR department, which is very conflicting as you can imagine. There is a lot of miscommunication between clients, management, and employees, regarding project expectations, deliverables, and due dates, leaving clients, management, and employees frustrated and stressed; this partly occurs because half of the time management doesn't really know what they're selling to clients. Management will often sell clients on "solutions" that the agency is not entirely sure how to implement properly themselves (as the expert), leaving a lot of the work to be figured out as you go. Needless to say, things here can get very stressful very quickly. Management has no real loyalty to employees, there's high turnover, and a select few employees that are a part of the "inner circle" (which you will quickly realize after being there a short time) are the "golden children" of the agency. They can do no wrong. This hinders morale for the rest of the employees and adds to the overall unprofessionalism by management. There is no healthcare insurance and no 401K plan. They do give you a little extra money for health insurance, but it's not great. Compensation is average based on your position for in the NOVA / DC market. Work-life balance is almost non-existent. Tons of late nights and early mornings. Everyone works through lunch, if you don't it's frowned upon -- that's the company culture here. The CEO is a true salesman, beware of this place and the promises they make you.

Pros

Good people but leadership stacked peers against peers by assigning undue subordinate/insubordinate hierarchy based on minimal tenure. There were some preferences and it was silently noted amongst many. All in all though, great little company that will probably serve as a stepping stone to many creatives.

Cons

Unfortunately, right before covid I had been due for an annual review (and a pay increase if I’m being honest with myself). Instead they docked me 15 percent (as most businesses had to make cuts during these trying times). Still, they had me single handed my project manage and develop content, strategy, and ancillary ad materials for a campaign, only to fire me once I delete red the product. Ouch. Still appreciative of my time with them. Decent peeps.
