The Birmingham office got too big, too quickly, and unfortunately the pleasant atmosphere disappeared with it.
If you aren't friends with or related to the office manager, you have no chance. It's very clique-y. You will be managed out. There are clear favourites, and if you aren't one of them, you'll be moved around, not supported, and your work will be scrutinised. If you have a personal issue and speak to the manager, all of her clique will know about it.
People are 'promoted' to team seniors/leaders but not allowed to lead their team. The manager will have a go at you for holding meetings with your team or trying to bring new ideas.
Very high staff turnover and teams/desks taken off you and swapped around regularly.
Your clothing and appearance is scrutinised, the manager and her clique will b*tch about what people are wearing, what their hair looks like, if they have bad teeth etc. as soon as their back is turned. Why does that matter as long as someone is good at their job?!
If you hand in your notice, your life will be made a misery during your notice period.
