Pros
Rapid and expansive exposure to multiple functional areas in design and manufacturing, as expected in contract design/manufacturing. Flexibility in both work structure and style (for better and worse). People are generally friendly and there is a collective culture of prioritizing getting-things-done. Albeit slow, positive progress is being done to adapt a small family business vibe closer to a modern business with more industry standards.
Cons
Chaotic workflows, as expected in contract design/manufacturing. Onboarding is nonexistent and laissez-faire management does not promote unified growth. Clashes of work (sub)cultures between various functional groups. Significant managing up is needed to enforce accountability and drive process changes. Facilities could use some general sprucing up.
