Pros

MediaSilo is a collaborative workplace that gives every employee a voice and a chance to make an impact on the business. Everyone from the C Suite to the most junior person are intelligent and engaged. It's also a pleasure to work with a customer base that makes the most exciting content on the air today.

Cons

It's not a culture for everyone. Only adaptable and vocal people who are comfortable with a rapid rate of change tend to be successful. It's not an environment with a lengthy, structured training process. Only those who thrive with a healthy degree of autonomy find a fit.

Pros

Work with well experienced people who are awesome at what they do and like coming to work. Established company with good, solid benefits that just got even better. Social atmosphere with clear boundaries between office and not. Zero pressure to go out to drink or go out bars w/ people on Friday @ 5. Very inclusive and always polite with no cliques or cliquish behaviors. Flat org structure - "C suite" sit in the open office with everyone else. Free-form structure, general openness to working across "departments", and ability apply yourself where you might otherwise not have an chance - you have opportunities to work on and try things that might otherwise be outside of a strict job description. No one is going to ask you to take on non-domain tasks, but if you have a passion or abilities outside your normal domain, you can choose to volunteer that where it might be of value. Doesn't mean you'll always have the time or the company will have the need, but I've never been told to stay out of other departments or company functions. Snacks Bring the pup to work No fiefdoms or people protecting their corner of things Standing desks Monitors galore We work with some of the coolest companies and brands in Media & Entertainment. Your favorite TV shows and movies? Changes are our products had some hand in making that happen. South Station is around the corner with access to the Red Line, Chinatown and Orange Line, Silver Line, commuter rail, Amtrak and bus station. Downtown Crossing is a 10 minute walk. Great offices in the Leather District, close to Dewey Square, food trucks, and other lunch options. Our other office is in LA - you might get to travel and work there from time to time, as needed, which is particularly welcome in Boston during brutal wintery February. We're not much for meetings and our conference rooms are glassed in, so someone will prod you to come back to the real world if you're in there too long. You're not going to be dragged into daily standups or reviews - we're informal and everyone is accessible. Sonos systems mean it can get loud and boisterous. Keg, random beers and IPAs, and energy drinks in the fridge - we don't do mandatory social hours, but you'll find you want to spend time with your colleagues as they're pretty awesome people. Zero pressure to drink. Poland Springs bottled water, Nespresso machine available. Work/life balance is totally a thing. There will always be occasions where you need to put in extra time and effort to get things done, but people depart at quitting time w/ feeling pressure to stick around. Different locations about the office from which to take in different scenery. Don't want to sit or stand at your desk? Grab a conference room, couch, or bean chair. Slack - poke anyone for what you need.

Cons

No office cat. It can get loud with the oonst, oonst, oonst - get a paid of noise cancelling headphones.

Pros

They are building products for an underserved market which creates lots of opportunities to solve new problems. They are open to risk and are willing to invest in ideas The people that work here own their piece of the business. They treat it like a business within the business. The people that work here are self starters who work independently toward the shared goals of the company. They hire people over experience creating teams rather than individuals.

Cons

The company is flat-ish which can lead to seemingly light oversight, direction, and feedback. The company avoids commitments to rigid process or methodologies which can be uncomfortable for people who prefer to have specific and consistent frameworks to work in
