Pros

$28/hr, 401k, insurance, CE allowance, 60% discount on veterinary services (still expensive), ability to learn from different departments.

Cons

Short staffed yet continues to hire more specialists therefore adding more stress to an already struggling team. Forced to take on additional responsibilities for other departments (because as previously stated those departments struggle). Unfair prices for owners/unjustified mark ups (ex: 100-200% markups on some medications.) Morale is very low

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback and for your years of dedication to MedVet. We truly appreciate the skill, commitment, and flexibility required of our RVTs, especially in a fast-paced, specialty environment. Finding and adding new team members has been and will always be one of our highest priorities. We are aware that our teams continue to be challenged by the increased workload. As an organization, we have developed the career framework to grow our teams and provide opportunities that will help offset burnout. We want to ensure our teams can navigate the challenging emergency and specialty veterinary medicine space and encourage employees to make their mental and physical health a priority. Resources available to employees include mental wellbeing apps, our Employee Assistance Program, and the creation of a well-being room. Utilizing PTO is always encouraged to help team members reset and recharge. We’re sorry to hear that your experience with us has been negatively impacted. Your feedback is taken seriously and shared with appropriate teams as part of our ongoing efforts to improve.

Pros

The staff at the Commerce MedVet have been very supportive and helpful with teaching me the skills I was previously lacking. I got my first feline jugular blood draw and I was also given great tips about IV catheter placement.

Cons

I have no cons, the staff are very welcoming and if you want to learn they want to teach.
