Severly Low Salaries for Motor Coach Drivers. - Motor Coach Driver Mears Transportation Group Employee Review

Pros

They have more motor coach work than any other motor coach company in central florida.

Cons

The pay is so extremely low it's unbelievable. Much of their work is contracted from Disney and Disney encourages their guests NOT to tip their motor coach drivers which is not the industry standard and Mears "built-in" gratuities and commissions are so low that they don't come close to paying what these motor coach drivers should be making annually as compared to the rest of the industry.

Pros

A great work environment due to wonderful co-workers that show respect and professionalism. As a driver things are very laid back and routine. The hours are consistent with a dedicated route. If you need more hours you have the ability to work more.

Cons

No overtime pay is offered or available. But there is always requests from management to work on days off. The pay rate is far too low for the cost of living in this area. There is a high turnover rate. You are not by any measure valued by the owners or upper management. You are expendable. No room or offered opportunity for pay rate growth or expansion with higher pay as a qualified safe experienced driver. No matter your experience or years of service as a driver; senior drivers and rookie drivers all make the same low pay. Horrendous uniforms that no amount of intentional effort to improve upon makes any difference....every driver looks tired old and frumpy.
