Pros

Good for first-timers with no experience. In a year, you'll have learned what other IT professionals take decades to pick up.

Cons

No employee has more than 3 years of experience at this company. Talent is underpaid and constantly looking for the exits. There is no advancement across Group companies except for sycophants... but none last more than 2 years before incompetence catches up with them. On-call is "engaged to wait" and uncompensated for that time, despite legal requirements. It's been like this for 35+ years across all McLane Group companies... so at least he's consistent.

Pros

The culture is the best of any place that I have worked. Mid level mangers were very honest, open and approachable. I still consider most of them friends. Enjoyable, family, work atmosphere. Since they are a MSP (managed service provider) the experience gained is very well rounded. Increased my overall skill set and experience in many different technologies.

Cons

Top level executives can be very hypocritical. Example: Leadership preached the company value of "Service above self". When a family member of mine passed away I was scolded for wanting to live that value and spend time with my family. This was partly because of the policies and values of the parent company. MIS is a sister company and HR and Accounting were not controlled by MIS fully. The parent company values and culture didn't fit MIS values and culture. Hard to move up in the company, it is a small sister company to McLane Group and tenured staff are given priority. When I worked there they didn't give raises but gave increases in the bonus pool. The bonus pool was based on the company performance and wasn't reliable. Also, pay is not competitive to surrounding cities.
