Pros

Good benefits, generally good work-life balance

Cons

No room for growth if you aren’t in the field. Lots of white men in leadership with old-fashioned attitudes about workplace culture and the value of diversity. Very much an old boys club. Heard lots of “you came here with a (non-engineering) degree, what did you expect?”. Look elsewhere for corporate opportunities.

Pros

Great company culture, exposure to some amazing projects, project teams are fantastic, camaraderie with your team, great resources and onboarding to ensure you learn to do your job well. ESOP and bonuses are great.. if you stick it out long enough.

Cons

Pay is not as competitive as other GC's, you can be relatively underpaid as they rely too heavily on preaching about the ESOP (which takes you 5 years to even be fully vested). Can be very political and leadership kinda plays favorites, some people who dont deserve it get promoted quick and others who do deserve it never get promoted. Long work hours and depending on the jobsite it can be pretty high-stress (but thats just construction for ya).
