Pros

May provides a really cool service in the cities where it operates, and is ahead of billion-dollar companies that still don't have vehicles on the road. The company has big investors that are very excited about the service we're building and the path to profitability. It's a small but growing startup, with all that that entails. I've worked at a few different startups of about the same size, and May has fewer of the typical startup problems (egotistical management, tolerance of hostile work environments, crunch, funding uncertainty etc) than most. I'm not a big believer in "workplace culture" on the whole, but everyone I've worked with at May, both on my team and on other teams, has been extremely nice, willing to help, and generous with their time. Compensation is a bit lower than average but normal for a startup at May's stage of growth. The stock option grants and unlimited PTO are generous.

Cons

The company is growing fast and doesn't have a lot of management structure in place to handle it. This is a normal part of the startup growth process and it's a good problem to have, but it does need to be dealt with. Diversity and inclusion is a priority for management but recruiting isn't getting the results we'd like. This is better than not having it as a priority but we've still got a ways to go.
