Pros

I have grown a lot at Maxwell, and I like a place that helps me grow a lot. People are supportive of each other, and there is a lot of learning and internal promotions in my department. The product is getting better and better. I see huge improvements in the past year. There has been some cutting-edge stuff going on in there as the team gets passed some earlier problems. Management is transparent in what they are doing, and the monthly meetings with so many numbers given do help us all understand what is going on.

Cons

I came on this site because I heard that of some bad reviews on here. I am honestly surprised to see a number of these, and I see it as a con. Am I missing something? I do not see so much negativity in the people I talk with. I give the company five stars based on my experience, but there are some unhappy people at Maxwell, or who were laid off earlier this year. The layoffs were a painful time at the company, and Q4 can be tough on some groups in Maxwell given the seasonality of the business. I hope as the numbers keep looking better, and Q1 rolls around, things feel better for some of these people. Or that they find positions that they like better, because there are plenty of us here who enjoy Maxwell!

Pros

I've worked at a lot of places over the years so I've developed a strong sense of "red flags" over my time. Before I accepted a position at Maxwell I wanted to meet the founders because I've learnt the hard way that the culture of a company generally starts from the top down. Luckily for me the founders at Maxwell are both incredible and honestly, truly, want to build an amazing company that makes benefits better in America. They are both incredibly passionate about Maxwell, and the mission, and they live up to their own values constantly. If you're reading this you probably already know how rare that is, and how often values disappear when money is on the table. This is not the case at Maxwell and it makes me proud to be here. The other big pro (and when it comes down to it what else really matters) are the people at Maxwell. Incredibly smart, hard working, and just downright nice people surround me every day I'm at work and it's a constant pleasure to work with them. Everyone is genuinely committed to doing whatever it takes for our customers and I've witnessed people really going out on a limb to help in any way they can. Oh, and a minor point but we're starting to build up a really strong remote work culture which I personally think is incredibly important.

Cons

I honestly don't have a huge amount to write about here. Our problems are similar to any company of this age and size, some tech debt to fight, struggles to get conference rooms because we've grown so fast, and touchy wifi! Nothing major to complain about.
