Pros

I don't know what the pros were. The opportunity to work from home.

Cons

I was a contracted Covid vaccine support agent with a wonderful company prior. So when my contract ended , I was hired with this company. First day of training had zero organization. One trainer ended up assigning other agents to troubleshooting others. 65 people for one trainer is a lot to handle. Everyone literally spent the whole day troubleshooting logging on to Microsoft. 8 hours of this . Using zoom as the communication program for training. Zoom isn't stable enough for a large business meeting. It's a better app for school and that type of setting. This event took place Friday We were to get the new schedule emailed. The morning of the first full week I did receive my training schedule. So as I came onto the link I was sent for zoom, I waited for over an hour. Nothing. So then I attempted to reach out to the training support email provided. But again nothing. This was both browser and in tne zoom program. I was panicking since I didn't have any information for support. No phone number no live communication. I later received an email for some Covid 19 vaccine seminar. I was welcomed in and privately messaged the host about not knowing what to do and I was not sure where to go. But didn't get an answer . Pathetically I was scavenging resources to reach out to. But got nothing in response. The entire week went by. I get an email that Friday requesting for my DL and Social info for payroll. So I took the time to explain what happened. But all that person did was add the training support email to my message to further assist. You'd think finally they would respond if a person in high position would be the sender. But again nothing. I didn't want all that I read on Glassdoor about this company to be true . But all of it is. Yesterday I received a paycheck for the only day I worked. So I don't even know if they took me off their payroll or if they think I am still an employee. For a communication company they sure don't communicate. Not to mention the only trainer didn't train. But made everyone else do his job assisting other agents. Presentation was poor and never covered a summary of what all details or protocol. This company really screwed me. I was a business owner that lost it due to pandemic. So o depended on this position . I even went and bough a brand new device to do my job. I was set up and ready to go with a positive attitude. I'm not sure if I'll get any more emails requesting info. It's confusing and baffles me how a company can manage operating this way. Meanwhile I have a family of five to feed and must make income for two adults giving my husband is disabled. If you want to give this company the benefit of the doubt like I did, go for it. But beware . Pay notice to the pattern as you read about this profile. And store it food for thought

Remote, adequate training and guidance and usually everything /software works - minus regular hiccups.

Cons

Not too many - a few misunderstanding s about training classes and roles but overall, not bad.

Pros

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

Cons

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
