Pros

A paycheck that’s about it!

Cons

They will work you to the bone. Very little money in budgets for raises or promotions. If your project doesn’t see fit , no raise for you. Other projects are thrown on you but with no additional pay. So basically they hire you to manage one project then they add on others but you will not receive any money for these new duties. Lots of favoritism on the HSNA Human Capital and Health Human Capital . It’s government contracting so if your project loses the bid , you have no job. Run very fast from this place, it’s not good. I am so happy to be gone from this place. There is also no development from your Supervisor or Manager just more work to overwhelm you.

Pros

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

Cons

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
