Cons

I wouldn’t recommend anyone to work here unless it’s for a short period of time to get through life with your eye on another goal. You’ll probably end up fired (most people do, (I quit) sometimes with no previous conversations or warnings, because they can) or end up quitting. When i started at Maverick it was a huge change of pace for me. Management listened well, a lot of team events and culture building. Tons of accountability put in place for everyone from my direct manager. I was cross trained in multiple different positions to help alleviate stress because there’s a constant need for employees. I had A lot of growth when it came to my own tasks and advancements and that was nice. Unfortunately, after about a year and a half I realized that this family and dealership is run more like a corporate store. Actually probably worse than a corporate store. There’s essentially a board of directors that decides everything whether or not they understand a department or a position. It’s odd and frustrating. It was like a Manager over a fast food joint determining profit margins and how the drive-through is going to run when they don’t even know how to read reports or do the job. They don’t know how to properly track things themselves but they decide to change positions and report numbers based on feeling even if it doesn’t logistically work. Now imaging that tied to your paycheck. No thanks. I thought I would be there for a very long time but once I saw the colors Of the leadership team and lack of people the company could retain, I realized I didn’t want to put any more effort into this company.

Pros

Positive culture, professionals working hard at changing the automotive stereotypes. Genuine focus on Customer experience.

Cons

From a past Manager I would say the biggest con is the companies inability to hire enough staff to allow growth, this leads to over working existing employees and a high burnout rate.
