Pros

If you enjoy interacting with children, this is the place for you. Your main customer will be the children who you will learn to care for. There is a lot of flexibility in how you are allowed to teach classes and also on the hours.

Cons

You work with kids and if you don't like kids this is the wrong place but this should only be logical. The biggest glaring issue at Mathobotix is quite simply the poor management. There needs to be a dramatic shift in the management paradigm; the management is mainly consisted of college students who often struggle to get resources properly allocated. This can range from getting enough lab materials to teach classes, getting enough instructors to teach large class sizes, to even getting paid on time. Payment can and has been delayed by significant spans of time and hardware and software given was extremely outdated. When I left in February, we were still using Windows XP and also extremely outdated Raspberry Pis. The turnover rate for a six month span is also terrible as many people simply leave after 2 to 3 months as a raise is out of the question (someone got fired for asking for a $2 hr raise during my tenure here).

Pros

Learned a lot about communication with other staff members and how to handle different types of situations. Get introduce to many different fields because of the exposure working with different companies promoting STEM to children and young adults.

Cons

It is difficult at times to handle the younger children but those situations are rare.

Pros

The owner, Kumar, is passionate about sharing STEM knowledge and will give you as much responsibility as you are willing to take on at any given time. I really enjoyed working with kids k-12th grade, and truly feel like I made and impact on their lives.

Cons

A challenge of working here is keeping up with all the student's projects; you've always got to stay one step ahead of them, even if you're working with 30+ students in a day, which happens frequently in summer camps. Another challenge is working with kids of all different personality types, and their parents.
