Pros

The work can be very interesting and cool during certain projects. There were sometimes perks around the holidays like gift cards, bonuses, and extra days off.

Cons

From the first day I started here I was told that you should only learn from certain people because everyone in the office has a different way of doing things. This should have a red flag from the beginning. The way that the workflow is structured in the office is messy and very unorganized. There were attempts at creating organization and making a uniform way of doing the work. However, these ideas were often not followed by everyone and were looked down upon by employees refusing to change the ways they do their work. New ideas are often shot down and abandoned very quickly. The turnover rate of employees is high. Often people work there for a couple weeks to a couple years. With no room to move up in the company and the amount of work to be done always fluctuating with the seasons, it’s understandable why so many people are in and out of that place. The worst problem in the office is communication. Upper management comes in and out of the office at odd times of the day without checking in or letting employees know when they will and won’t be there. This makes it incredibly difficult to do the work. With the way that the work is structured, you have to ask a lot of questions to upper management to make sure you’re doing your work correctly. This could be VERY EASILY fixed if a uniform way of doing things was set in place. That way, so many questions wouldn’t have to be asked throughout every work day. And while all the jobs can be slightly different, it would still be incredibly useful to implement more structure and organization into the workplace. Another problem is the toxicity of the workplace. People often talk behind other peoples backs. There are obvious problems with nepotism that are quickly denied. Management plays favorites but denies this when confronted about it. There are very few women that work there and there are no women in upper management positions. I worked here partially during the beginning of the pandemic as well. And how a company responds to a crisis like this shows who they are. They initially shut down for a couple weeks and then brought employees back into the office slowly and cautiously. Precautions were set in place like taking our temperature during the start of a shift, wearing your mask if you leave you desk, plenty of hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes were provided. This was reassuring to start, however these precautions slowly but surely stopped being followed by a lot of employees. Some employees were allowed to work at home while this was denied to others for reasons unknown. There are also no yearly reviews or raises unless you ask. PTO is so minimal that it barely added up to two days off per month. Overall, this was one of the worst places I’ve ever worked.

Pros

This company has a lot of fascinating technology in several different areas. If you come in with basic skills and prove you're trainable they're willing to cross train in multiple areas which keeps things interesting. I started with an entry level job and was able to prove myself, which came with several pay increases. Good benefits with paid vacation and holidays, medical, dental, and 401K matching. Also, the past two years in a row all employees got a 9% bonus check at the end of the year. Decent flexibility with personal & family matters. Relaxed atmosphere. Quite a few newer young people on staff which keeps things fresh and fun.

Cons

Everyone is expected to work the evening shift at some point. Smaller company so there aren't an abundance of management level positions to work up to.
