Pros

In the last 3 years there are no Pros

Cons

Being a Store Manager is the worst. You are treated as if you are less than human. Raises this year 2% and less. Assistants up to 6 % and hourly associates 2%. As a store manger you are threaded to get the numbers payroll is so low you are worked to death. It is so sad how this region lead by a man who only cares about numbers and not his people. Assistants are now hourly so SM’s are made to work crazy hours just to stay afloat. Never ending threats with no appreciation. The raise given to us was an example of how we are treated. In a world where the cost of living has gone sky high we get less than 2%. But just look at the high up bonuses and raises. They don’t care about people any more. They are just telling the public what they want to here. Regional needs to be addressed. He the VP does not know how to treat people. The company should go to all DM’s and SM’s under this leader and have open dialogue. You might be surprised. Yes he gets numbers but do you want to know how? Or do you only care about the numbers. When I received my I was in shock and they want to know why they can’t hire mgmt. Maybe you should deep dive into it.

Pros

The work is the same every day (at least for janitors), and you don't have many surprises. In my experience, there is a lot of leeway for who does what as long as it gets done. I don't personally mind helping out in all departments after I am done cleaning. Current store manager (not asms) is very nice and understanding.

Cons

The management (Assistant managers in my experience) is at each other's throats to be the best out there and suck up to the district manager. The pressure to coerce customers into buying into the TJX card is a bit much. It all trickles down to the front end, which then causes everyone to be unhappy. Compensation is low and raises are based on company loyalty first, then your efficiency.
