Overbearing micro-managing boss - Digital Marketing Executive Marketing Signals Employee Review

Pros

I had the good sense to leave! Working above a builders yard had its benefits - always noisey, which drowned out the constant drone from the bosses office on sales calls.

Cons

Micro-managing boss, who is a great salesman and able to wrap customers up into thinking he has their best interests at heart, so regular work. But then you're left having to deal with clients who's expectations are set too high. If results are poor, then that's your fault if/when they cancel!

Pros

- Supportive and friendly colleagues - Varied and interesting client work - Work is challenging in a constructive way - Opportunities to develop skills and take ownership - Good level of autonomy and trust from management - Leadership is open to new ideas - Strong sense of team culture, even in a remote environment - Flexible working arrangements

Cons

- Maternity pay is statutory rather than enhanced, which disproportionately impacts women and feels somewhat inconsistent with the company’s otherwise modern, female-supportive approach. In the current cost-of-living climate, statutory pay is extremely challenging and this is an area that leadership (who are otherwise great) could consider reviewing. - Progression and pay increases aren’t automatic and require self-advocacy. A lack of regular uplifts can mean long-standing employees experience real-terms pay decreases due to inflation.

Pros

This is, without a doubt, the best company I have ever worked for. The focus on employee wellness, personal development, and long-term growth is unmatched. Management is incredible, there is always someone willing to help, support, or guide you whenever you need it. Working fully remote on a four-day work week is a huge bonus, and despite being remote, the company does an amazing job of keeping the culture strong and connected. The business is extremely well run, and it genuinely feels like a place where people are valued and set up to succeed.

Cons

I don't have any at all!
