Pros

Working with leaders in the Investment Advisory Space, doing important work to advance the independent space, accolades amongst industry peers/colleagues, advancement to opportunities that are impossible to access. I worked here for 5 years. My entire career has been built on the shoulders of MarketCounsel. If you work hard and keep your head down you will succeed. If you are about achieving results, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment in a rapidly expanding industry and want to work with some of the brightest minds in financial services, this is the firm for you.

Cons

One con could be working at a fast pace. No other cons that I can think of. Lazy workers or 9-5ers need not apply.

Pros

MarketCounsel hires top talent and develops independent thinkers. Collegues were always there to bounce ideas off of when needed. It is a very high paced environment and hours can sometimes be long, but if you enjoy challenging yourself and being rewarded for hard work, its a great place to work. You are often encouraged to develop your own ideas to present and will get honest feedback. There are advancement opportunities as long as you are willing to work hard and not expect it to be handed to you because of your background. There is also a yearly industry conference that MC runs that allows you to meet some of the most influential people in the biz. The pay was also competitive.

Cons

As mentioned previously the hours can be long. If you are not used to, or can not handle feedback and criticism, then this is not the place for you. It's very fast paced and requires independent thinking, which is only a con if you are not experienced in that type of environment. It can be stressful at times.
