Pros

I cannot speak for the operational teams, but work in the corporate/back-office structure is good. Pay and bonus schemes are competitive, pension contributions (UK) are average. This is a demanding environment due to the business growth expectations but also rewarding and very interesting. You often see comms about promotions and people moving around various departments, so there is the chance for growth here.

Cons

Workload can be an issue due to the almost constant expectations of growth, however this is normal in many companies and management seem to be actively trying to address this. Marken suffers from some immaturity in the corporate space - still operating as a start up and is not leveraging Global systems/procedures such as a company this size should.

Pros

There are no pros if I did not get hired

Cons

Pay advertised was not accurate * Lack of transparency in compensation * Wasted time and travel expenses I had a very frustrating experience with the hiring process. I attended the interview and was told my performance was “perfect,” which made it seem like I was a strong candidate. However, the role was advertised at a minimum of $30/hour, and later I was told the actual pay was closer to $20/hour. That’s a major discrepancy and feels very misleading. On top of that, I ultimately received a rejection despite the positive feedback. Between the misleading pay and the outcome, this process felt inconsistent and unprofessional. I also spent time and money on travel (gas) to attend the interview, which makes the experience even more frustrating. Overall, this felt like a waste of time and could have been avoided with clearer and more honest communication upfront.
