Pros
Choice in who you work for, when, and what services you offer (to a degree). Higher pay for higher needs clients- often better than industry standards. One on one client care.
Cons
Difficult systems to navigate, consistent pay issues (late checks, incorrect amount). Difficult to get anyone to help resolve issues. Union fails direct care workers often. High turnover and no guaranteed hours. Rarely help is available to find clients/ work. Pay is once a month. No opportunities for growth.
