Pros

I started at March as an intern, and was quickly given a lot of experience and responsibility, alongside a lot of support, coaching and guidance from March. March is all about promoting from within and helping people develop the skill sets to become better, well-rounded PR pros. March has a very strong content and digital arm, and those people are often embedded on PR teams. March also has a robust performance review, mentorship and skill development program. I ended up being able to move up the ranks and on to the management team in less than 7 years. Throughout my time at March I had incredible experiences, getting to travel abroad, to major tech events like CES, and to work on some of the most exciting tech brands locally and across the US. March is very respected in the tech industry, with much of its business coming from referrals from current clients. In terms of the people, I can’t say enough good things. The owners of the company genuinely care about each employee personally and professionally and are invested in their success. Some of my closest friends are current and former March employees. I ended up moving on to try my hand at an in-house role, but have March to thank for developing me into the PR professional I am today.

Cons

Not much to say here. The work life balance can be tough, as is the case at any agency. However, if anyone’s workload is out of control, there is a huge effort made to fix it. And, as I was leaving, even more precautions were being put in place to get an even better birds eye view of a team member’s workload on a day to day basis.

Pros

March is an extremely supportive, friendly environment that truly embodies the 'work hard, play hard' mentality. As a pure technology PR firm, the work is a welcome challenge that keeps you constantly learning and feeling rewarded. There's never a dull moment and each day is different. March listens to its employees and, if you show a desire or aptitude, there's the opportunity to get involved in corporate initiatives or other types of clients, technology or services. All you have to do is ask and you'll always be heard! It's a place that helps you grow, not just in a job, but in a career with the necessary skills for success in any corporate environment. The company also adapts as the industry changes, incorporating additional marketing, digital or social services as clients and market landscapes evolve. It's refreshing to see such a flexible agency that can respond equally to employee and industry needs.

Cons

The agency has grown quickly and, as is to be expected, had some growing pains. Figuring out the balance between the three office locations and getting more established training and HR programs in place took some time and still needs work, but is on the right track and every employee is offered the chance to contribute feedback. It's a very fast-paced environment that requires good multi-tasking, writing and communication abilities - which isn't really a con, it's part and parcel of any PR firm, but may not be for everyone.

One of the reasons we set up March was to create an agency where people could build their careers and experiment with new services and creative ways to evolve communications. Your feedback is really helpful and on point. Thank you.
