Pros

The Centre "seems" to be expanding very fast but it they will most likely be shutting down few locations soon. Most teachers will make excuses to leave and avoid the 15 months salary in lieu.

Cons

You will be stuck for minimum of 15 months or salary in lieu. Sick leaves (even with doctor's note) will not be paid unless it's 4 or more consecutive days.(Then you will only be paid 3/4 of your daily salary) They will tell you that teachers with high experience will only get 25k/ month. (Not true. Especially when you're working one day weekend) Company doesn't care about copyright issues. This centre doesn't have a proper academic curriculum. They make up crappy activity books. Some of their admins are unskillful and comes with an attitude. They will make parents pay for weeks of tuition fee when it's illegal to make them pay well in advance.

Pros

This is one of the most professional and well-run tutoring centers around. My employers, Carrie and Donny, were extremely friendly, supportive and fair towards me. They always made sure I had the time and support to prepare for my classes well. In my experience, Maple Tree provided a lot of career advancement opportunities and performance incentives. This really motivated me to try my best and stay at the company for many years. My schedule was tiring, but I always felt like my hard work was being recognized and rewarded. This is a company that truly cares about its employees and students, not just a soulless learning factory like some others. I loved the small class sizes (usually no more than 6) and holiday parties. I have very happy memories of my time working there!

Cons

Before the MTR opened in Ap Lei Chau, food and transport options nearby were limited. Now the area must be much more pleasant and convenient to spend time in. The classrooms are small and windowless, but that's typical for HK. Despite this, they're still clean, bright and welcoming.
