Pros

Authors are fun to work with and very engaging when they're engaged with the program

Cons

Some authors are high touch and need more hand-holding than others, and sometimes that stress falls on the ASAs

Pros

Authors were fun to work with—they were the best part of Manuscripts.

Cons

This was a highly unprofessional place, partly because the various leaders of the editing teams had misplaced priorities. Lax where care was needed and fastidious when unwarranted. They seemed to think editing involved little more than ticking boxes, sending weekly reminders to writers, and completing other pedestrian duties that had nothing to do with book editing. Very little attention was paid to the actual process of editing, with minimal feedback given—I suspect because few of those so-called “leaders” had any sort of proper education or experience. But then again, tiny minds are often preoccupied with trivial matters. I only realized I was doing well when my book authors gave me outstanding testimonials and when they won a number of awards, some highly prestigious.
