Pros

Manson values safety and tries its best to take care of its employees. The travel can be an awesome way to see a lot of the country and fun while you're young. It's very entry-level friendly. It's awesome to be out on the water every day. Some managers are really talented at what they do.

Cons

Some reviews below look like something written by someone who works in HR (or possibly family of some recognizable last names) trying to save face, not someone who's been in the field day in and day out. The fact that someone could be willing to fake a review has me lowering my rating further. The first thing to keep in mind is Manson is a construction company. At the end of the day, everyone is expected to get their hands dirty. During my time at Manson, I've seen and experienced a LOT of sexual harassment, racism (including calling employees the "N word"), and sexism. "Then why didn't you report it?" Because, in construction (including Manson), those who speak up are not "part of the team". Of course a construction company isn't as progressive Google! But treating people with respect should never be limited to Silicon Valley. I've worked weeks into the 90+ hours. If you're a degreed field engineer, that's less than $12/hour. I'm not naive enough to suggest overtime for engineers, but I am smart enough to know when I'm getting hosed. Work-life balance is awful in this job, and it's hard on interpersonal relationships. It's interesting that someone would suggest "work hard or leave". There doesn't have to be a choice - I'm willing to work hard, but not sacrifice my health or family life for an extra foot of overdepth. There is very limited advancement potential during your first few years at Manson. They're growing so quickly that they just can't give out a lot of opportunities. Many of the positions that "require degreed engineers" actually need little more than a warm body. Running surveys is just as stressful as it is boring. There's really not much to look forward to on the job. From racism to mediocre wages, nothing about this job is going to attract the younger generation. Not because we're not willing to work hard - we're not willing to earn Walmart wages (under thousands of dollars of student loans), hear an employee get called a "w--back" once again, or get sick for the third time in a month due to stress and lack of sleep. Your mileage may vary.

Pros

Bonus and esop are good.

Cons

Just loath thinking of going to work every morning and dread mondays over the weekend. They are not there for employees, don’t believe their motto, “we take care of our employees”, they don’t care. No career growth, across Manson. New employees are not here for Manson, they’re here to try and make themselves look more important than they really are.
