Pros

The freedom to build our own curriculum to teach in a way that is relevant to the children vs. just teaching from a forced curriculum without the ability to adjust to our classroom's needs. The intent of good team practices and team building is present (just not delivered upon.)

Cons

The school is run by a 'board' that is out of touch Teachers are literally afraid of the school leadership (sometimes job loss is implied as a way to get consensus) Teachers are now being 'forced' to visit students homes There is no real discipline for unruly children (hitting, vandalism) for fear of losing funding if a child is suspended/expelled. 80 hour work weeks are expected

Pros

The students are the highlight of this small charter school. They are wonderful to teach and interact with. Staff is also given a good amount of freedom to explore new instructional techniques and strategies.

Cons

Enrollment and staff retention seems to fluctuate from year to year which can hurt overall stability.

Pros

Good pay for a W.S. Student Hours are alright Work isn't very intensive Friendly staff

Cons

Must fit into the school schedule, so university may impede ability to work Mental toll of watching children struggle with basic academic topics Role is less of a tutor, and more of a teaching aid - may need to take charge of class, or act as a monitor during extracurriculars Student body is not too well behaved
