Pros

Makespace! obviously has a very upset former employee who is going out of his/her way to create issues for the company. I would suggest that if you choose to read the very over-the-top reviews that keep getting posted on here over the past few months, read between the lines of the slander and negativity. This is someone who has been emotionally injured. I work at Makespace! now and I don't experience any of the absolutely ridiculous accusations that have been put on this website. The company has great people, amazing services and a bright future. If you are considering working here or you're just curious about how a company could be as horrible as some of what you may read here, I suggest making an appointment or just stopping by to find out directly for yourself. That is what the newest people that work here did before were hired. We've all got questions about WTF or who the * is going after Makespace! on GD! People figure things out.

Cons

Is Makespace! the best place to work? I don't know about that, but I like it. It seems that out of 20 people or so, most would agree with me. I guess as with any company you likely can't please absolutely everyone. Makespace! has had challenges with finding good people in the past which has definitely caused previous pain. Recently during sigIt seems that some of the past is not letting go of Makespace!

Pros

I spent a few years with Makespace (yes I'm a woman) and was always treated with respect and was promoted through the company. Management and the team is focused on clients first but the team is like family to eachother. The work is amazing and I kinda regret leaving now that I see agency life from another office.

Cons

Don't do a lot of cultural events

Pros

Fair pay and decent benefits. Videographer, designer and developer were all great to work with.

Cons

Very little training was actually offered despite the CEO being extremely adamant about the ramp up being 3-6 months before projects would be fully handed over to a new PM. I was fired right before my 90 days without warning (in public), without any chance to try and improve or request more proper training or improvement plan. Be aware that the creative director is extremely sexist and misogynistic. There is no accountability there at all. He would not answer my calls or respond to texts. Would never update the tracking software or complete requests, causing projects to fall far behind. The CEO and creative director are also in a relationship, which was not disclosed before I made my decision to take their offer of employment. If I had known that I would not have joined the company that unceremoniously dumped me in Q4 saying it was a favor to me to find a more corporate oriented job. No one is hiring in Q4, it was cruel.
