Pros

The company is "remote" (still expect you to be in person from time to time).

Cons

There is ZERO work life balance. It doesn't matter if it is a holiday, weekend, evening, sick day, or PTO day (which you only get 10 days). You are expected to work and be active and responsive to out of left field requests 24/7. And if you don't accommodate be prepared for passive aggressive comments and belittling your abilities. They try to use the salary to justify this behavior, but their insurance costs are high and they don't contribute to 401K so the salary is not that great. The founder is EXTREMELY hypocritical, incoherent on requests and expectations, and clueless when it comes to technology and expects everyone to work around her inability to use any technology. She switches from being happy go lucky to off the rails. Coworkers are rude, condescending, and gossip behind your back. They do not do any proper training or mentoring and expect perfection from your first minute there. Diversity. There is none: all white team, no EDI committee or training, founder's ancestors owned a major plantation in the south. I would give zero stars if I could. If you value your time or sanity, RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Pros

Free lunches and dinners when working late or day of layout session. Wine Wednesdays. Nice outings. Opportunity to meet incredible, positive, and powerful people in the Chicagoland area. Worked with many great clients who appreciated your work and established a relationship. Health benefits. Work from home when needed. The owner always had a planned event for employees at the end of the year. Worked with some great people.

Cons

Last minute changes daily to the bitter end of a deadline. Not enough designers to cover the many projects even though business was growing. The balance of work between employees was way off. Having to travel out of state to do press checks that weren't always ready and usually hours after you've sent the files out for review. Had no project manager. The promise of bonuses or salary increases but never got them even after goals were made. No transportation benefits for pre-tax purposes. Not much of a team-like effort. Sometimes, a bit too Gossipy. 1-week vacation only and would reach out to you while on vacation.
