Pros
I was a dev coop at Majik summer 2018, it was a sweet experience.
First of all, the engineering team at Majik is relatively small so you get to contribute in very impactful ways (things you work on will actually be deployed and used). This in itself is an opportunity for growth in writing and testing robust, well thought-out code that has the potential to make or break things!
A small team also means you get exposed to a lot of the stack, inevitably learning new and cool things along the way. You participate in sprints and weekly customer success meetings, and are really treated like a full-time employee, given lots of room for independently tackling challenging tasks while still having lots of support from the whole team when needed.
Finally, of course, the individuals working there are fantastic - I felt like I connected to everyone over rooftop lunches, excursions for sushi and ribs, and after-work life-chats.
Would definitely recommend applying!
Cons
There's daily lunch so I wasn't forced to practice my cooking. No bike rack, but I think that's coming (also it's like a 2min walk to the nearest one). Got tricked into drinking coffee by it being free & accessible 24/7.
