Great benefits, but a culture of favoritism and exclusion - Human Resources Main Line Health Employee Review

Pros

Excellent health benefits, Competitive PTO and wellness perks, Dedicated employees at various levels

Cons

Hiring practices often prioritize personal connections over qualifications, with acquaintances of staff getting roles they are not necessarily qualified for. Management tends to support a select few, with career growth being limited unless you are on a specific team or from a certain area. Unfortunately, professionals of color, are rarely supported; and many leave due to discomfort, lack of development, or being pushed out.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at MLH. We are glad to learn that you enjoy our top notch benefit package! We take your feedback seriously, as it helps us reflect on how we can improve as an organization. Every employee, regardless of background, should feel supported and have equitable access to opportunities. If there are instances where that’s not happening, it’s our responsibility to address them. We are actively working to strengthen our hiring and promotion practices to ensure decisions are based on merit, not personal connections. Additionally, we recognize the importance of creating a truly inclusive environment where all professionals, including those from underrepresented communities, feel valued and have clear paths for development. We are committed to listening, learning, and making meaningful changes. If you’re open to it, we’d welcome the opportunity to hear more about your experience directly and how we can do better.
