Pros

There's many reasons to enjoy working at MLH but I shall highlight some of the best features. 1) Very strong and stable organization. Unlike many other health networks within the area, MLH has a history of continued stability and organizational success. 2) Clear expectations of the job. The benefit of working within a stable healthcare network is that rarely does anything go horribly wrong. As long as you do your job correctly and with patient care in mind, you will be more than fine. 3) Flexibility. Something I deeply appreciated about MLH is their willingness to work with me when something new or unexpected happens in my schedule. 4) The benefits are incredible, 5) Many hospitals and outpatient facilities means that there will always be an opening. Organizational flexibility is fantastic. 6) The opportunity for career advancement. I lost track of the number of coworkers who were able to parlay their experience and time at MLH into greater opportunities. It's one of the reasons why I'm hesitant to leave MLH. Matter of fact I also lost track of the number of former coworkers who have come back to MLH because of the culture here is simply better than many other healthcare networks.

Cons

Because MLH is such a large healthcare network there are bound to be a few cons. 1) Patient volume. You will see A LOT of patients. It's just a fact of life especially as other healthcare networks falter and patients lose faith, many have redirected their services towards MLH. So be prepared to work. 2) The parking situation could be better for both patients and employees. Don't get me wrong, you WILL find parking. It's just a matter of how long is the walk from parking lot to your place of employment. 3) I really don't have any other outright cons. It's a job, you will get paid, you will go home in one piece.

Pros

Over time the benefits have decreased. Currently the pro is the benefits.

Cons

My experience at Main Line Health was disappointing due to ongoing concerns about leadership, fairness, and workplace culture. In the Home Health department, I observed inconsistent management practices, unequal treatment of employees, and a lack of accountability from leadership. As a minority employee, I experienced and witnessed what I believed to be unfair treatment of employees of color. There appeared to be disparities in opportunities, treatment, and compensation that contributed to a workplace culture where many minority employees did not feel equally valued or supported. I made multiple attempts to address these concerns through Human Resources in good faith, hoping they would be handled professionally and confidentially. Instead, I experienced what I believed to be breaches of confidentiality, with information I shared appearing to be disclosed to other employees. This significantly undermined my trust in the HR process and made it difficult to feel comfortable raising additional concerns. Management often failed to address employee concerns appropriately, leading to low morale, high turnover, and a culture where staff did not feel heard. Rather than fostering collaboration and respect, leadership frequently created an environment that felt unsupportive and inequitable.
