Pros

I can't think of any.

Cons

Probably the worst job experience I've had. After over a year of hard work, taking on new tasks outside my job, being available for last-minute work, and getting praise almost every day I asked for a review for a raise. The entire conversation was such crap, the tone of HR completely changed and they brought up two reasons to not get a raise and had no evidence to back it up. After 90 days of "no more mistakes", I was begrudgingly given a 3% raise. My hours were cut and they started giving my work away to other employees that had a lower hourly rate. To top it all off, I was then terminated at 5pm on Friday before a holiday weekend so they wouldn't have to pay me the holiday pay. The company has a lot of turn and no one seems to care about the clients or produce any quality work for them. They were losing clients left and right in early 2023 and management didn't seem to do anything. I would stay away from this company- seems like a sinking ship.

Pros

Most people seem rather nice.

Cons

Was brought on board and pretty much never given anything to do. I think I was given like 6 hours in 2 months. Not enough to fill up even 1 day of work. Not sure why they even bothered hiring someone.

We're sorry that we weren't able to provide enough projects to fill your schedule. We bring on contractors as our project workload is constantly changing based on our client's needs. We like to have contractors ready who are familiar with our processes in case we have an influx of projects. I'm sorry if there was any confusion around your contractor status with us. Based on the number of hours you mentioned working, Main Event Digital does not feel that you should have been transitioned to an employee from your contractor status. If you'd like to speak with us about that, please contact us directly so that we can discuss it further. There are many different criteria taken into consideration before we make that transition from contractor to employee and would need to discuss that with you directly. Wish you all the best!
