Pros

Has the potential to be a good district. Nice country environment. Overall good class of people who attend. Caring teachers.

Cons

Magnolia doesn't believe in their teachers. The teachers are constantly being micromanaged by those who haven't taught in a classroom in years, but justify their jobs by telling you how to run yours. MISD forces one bad strategy after another on their teachers because a "consultant" knows best. Meetings, documentation, and micromanagement is the mentality of MISD. Teachers are frustrated and minimized. Scores continue to stagnate and teachers are NEVER asked their opinion.

Pros

Good leadership, great kids/ I taught advanced. Loved my coworkers. I taught with very talented, dedicated, kind coworkers who truly care about students and student growth. I experienced high trust with most of the principals I worked under with very little micromanagement. Great parents for the most part. When I first started teaching there in 2016, it was one of the highest paying districts in the area. Others in the area have now caught up with pay and some now pay a bit better. They implemented two bonuses throughout the year, which was nice. I enjoyed my time teaching in MISD and had a good experience.

Cons

Nothing that is uncommon for the profession of teaching.
