Pros

I joined the team I whilst studying for my Masters in Digital Marketing, mad4digital gave me the opportunity to benefit from the practical aspects of digital marketing which included paid ads, SEO optimisation for websites, email marketing campaign (design and execution), rebranding and creating a brand identity for new business; being closely involved in the project management of website development and a variety of marketing programs where I was able to sharpen my skills. I was given the responsibility which enabled me to develop myself and to get the broad experience to allow me to understand the areas I was interested in most

Cons

The main downside was that it was only possible to work 20 hours a week due to the limitation of my student visa

Pros

This business made me realise what I do not want in an employer.

Cons

A unprofessional start-up business with rude management. On my first day I learnt from current employees, that the business have very high staff turnover and that I had replaced someone who had only been in the role a few months. The management do not have any regard for their staff, and everyone is disposable. They expect their staff to work longer hours than outlined in the contract. The office environment and culture is very poor. Management are extremely rude to their clients and staff. There is no clear structure or business direction. The business owners paint a very pretty picture in the interview, but the reality is much different. I strongly urge anyone thinking about joining this 'company' that they should reconsider. Speak to current employees, find out how long they have been in the business. There is a reason why this business has a very high staff turnover.
