Pros

Excellent relationships across Microsoft and its partner ecosystem, meaning there is no shortage of work and projects are usually more than a few short months and thus more stable than at some other consultant shops. Colleagues are smart, capable and helpful and in general it is a pleasant work environment. The President is an ex-Microsoft employee and has been running company the past 10 years - so he has plenty of relationships and business to draw from.

Cons

Not a good place to be if you want nothing to do with Microsoft - the core of their business. Other than that, I can only say that they've treated me very well and I'd recommend them. I left to explore a new direction in my career, but otherwise I would still be there.

Pros

I have worked for Mactus Group as a vendor at Microsoft years. Mactus Group have always had positive goals and made efforts to help me improve as a candidate and a professional. I recommend this company as an employer over the 3 other agencies I have worked for.

Cons

Not enough technical roles are available - focus seems to be marketing and BI

Appreciate the input. We tend to focus on Marketing and Marketing Analytics/Business Intelligence so our selection of technical roles is somewhat limited.

Pros

management is generally nice, smart co-workers, reasonable salaries, access to some good teams within Microsoft, gifts around the holiday.,

Cons

1) Follow-on engagements: Mactus needs to work more proactively and systematically to find follow-on engagements prior to the end of your current engagement. In my case, it was clear that little effort had been made to identify follow-on opportunities. 2) Vacation: a clause in the Mactus employment contract states that if you don't take accrued vacation before the end of an engagement, you will lose any earned vacation days. In my case, the workload was so heavy I had no time for vacation during the assignment..I argued my case with management on this issue and was 'given' a few days of earned vacation at the end of an engagement, with the message that management was doing me a 'favor'. 3) Pay for work done: your contract also states that if the client doesn't pay Mactus for your work, you will in turn not be paid--even if (as was the case with me) you did the work on time, and the client acknowledged that the work was of high quality.
