This company experienced mass layoffs in October 2024, letting go of many hardworking, loyal employees—decisions that often appeared to be driven more by internal politics than actual performance. Even one of the few upper-level leaders who genuinely supported, trained, and empowered her team was let go, which raises serious questions about the values upheld by senior leadership. Upper management fosters a culture that often feels rooted in fear, favoritism, and a lack of accountability. I once overheard a senior leader making a monetary bet about whether a new hire would “survive” in their role—despite knowing the person would report to a notoriously difficult manager. That kind of behavior felt deeply unprofessional and discouraging. Employee wellbeing does not seem to be a priority. Facilities issues are frequently overlooked.
