Pros
Having worked at few HUGE defense contractors and a small-that-grew-to-medium-size company, it's far better for this engineering services company in this niche to remain small-sized, medium-revenue, and more-profitable than to become large-sized, large-revenue, and low-profit. Being small has its benefits.
Cons
If you need someone to constantly motivate you, someone assign you tasks, and desire to follow-checklists.... you probably should go elsewhere.
