Pros

They have very challenging and unique products to work on

Cons

Management from top down seem confused on what they are doing. This creates chais on all levels. HR appears to be running the company, managers dont seem to have say so in hiring or firing. They will drive out any exceptional people until its jus another widget company. There is zero loyalty to employees anymore. You are just a slot filled or removed based on HRs need, not the customers. The field service people have been given a ridiculous burden the last few years. Being an FSE was once a fun and rewarding career. It’s been turned into a burnout job that has little in terms of satisfaction or reward. Management has changed structure so much that if the FSEs didnt have such high integrity, would have cost this company way more than it has. Employee morale is such that its just another job to most. Can make more money elsewhere.

Pros

The company is owned by ITW and some things have been an improvement that came with their ownership. MTS has been a great company to work for and has had good management that was in many places promoted from within. Historically compensation was fair and at times well above average.

Cons

Sales professionals compensation has always been based on Salary being 50 percent and commission plans being 50 percent. However the new ITW compensation plan for the sales team in 2025 was implemented to minimize the amount of money that could be earned via commission during the fiscal year and designed to punish sales persons who did not make at least 100 percent of their goals by making them pay back commission paid out during the year. This is an unacceptable plan and borderline unethical. If you are seeking a sales job, my advice is look elsewhere.
