Pros

Working as a data engineer at Moo has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. The company's commitment to meaningful work is evident from day one. I have been given the opportunity to make a real change and create value for the company. The projects I have worked on have been challenging and intellectually stimulating, providing a platform to showcase my skills and contribute towards the company's success. One of the standout aspects of Moo is the management's attentiveness to employee opinions. They genuinely listen to our ideas and feedback, creating an environment where our voices matter. This level of transparency and open communication leads to collaborative decision-making and fosters a sense of ownership among employees. The flexibility offered in terms of remote working and the ability to work from anywhere has been a significant advantage. As a data engineer, I appreciate having the freedom to structure my workday according to my preferences. This flexibility allows for a healthy work-life balance, reduces commuting time, and enables me to be more productive in an environment of my choice.

Cons

While Moo offers a fantastic work environment, an area that could be improved upon is about career growth opportunities. While the company values employee development and offers training programs, there could be clearer paths for advancement and more structured career progression plans. Enhanced mentorship and guidance for professional growth would greatly benefit employees and contribute to their long-term success within the organisation.

Pros

Hybrid, flexible, benefits are through the UK

Cons

Over the years, the company’s culture has steadily declined. What was once a positive and collaborative environment has shifted into one that appears to tolerate unprofessional behavior, reward favoritism, and lack strong leadership by example. Employees do not feel safe voicing concerns, even when those concerns are presented constructively with potential solutions. This has created a culture where open communication is discouraged rather than supported. There are also significant concerns regarding sales management. Leadership behaviors and work ethic at times fall short of expectations, with managers assigning responsibilities outside of employees’ defined roles, offering limited coaching, and not consistently demonstrating accountability. In some cases, work completed by team members is not appropriately recognized. Accountability overall appears to be lacking. Employees are frequently left feeling undervalued, which has contributed to low morale. While the organization promotes a commitment to work-life balance and a people-first (“keep it human”) culture, these values do not always align with the day-to-day employee experience. As a result, the company has experienced the loss of highly skilled and talented sales professionals. Recent organizational changes, including significant layoffs and the transition of roles to lower-cost regions, have further impacted trust. This has been particularly challenging given prior reassurances about job security. At this point, the organization has lost credibility with many employees due to these inconsistencies and decisions.
