Easy going work environment with flexible hours and the opportunity to do the research you want to do, not slave away on the products they want to see. Research is always a great gig in this respect, so make the most of your time there and establish the skills you want for the future.
Cons
Of course, you will take a hit in terms of salary to work for a university, so keep that in mind right off the bat. Also, it really is a garbage in, garbage out situation - if you are not a self-starter, the lack of structure will kill you.
