      Horrible, entirely horrible - Assistant Editor MDPI Employee Review

      Pros

      -You can bond with your colleagues over the mutual dissatisfaction -Decent starting salary and benefits

      Cons

      Everything else: -Micromanagement -Highly unrealistic workloads! You are expected to work overtime every day for at least 1-2 hours. You are not paid for that overtime and you CANNOT get that time off. -Terrible work culture, zero empathy. -Constant pressure from superiors, you are told that you "don't work (well) enough" even after a 10-hour day of work. The contract says 7 and a half.

      Pros

      My experience with MDPI has been great. Their staff is professional and organized, and there's no shadiness in regards to pay. They provide training and English Editing guides, and there is room for advancement in the company.

      Cons

      Training was brief; however, sources and trainer are available beyond the training period.
