Pros

Unfortunately, there are not many pros to report. The salary was decent, but not worth the aggravation and stress.

Cons

Enviornment is sink or swim and offers little to no help for new employees. You will go through 3 days of training and then you are on your own from there. The work is not challenging and once you learn it you will be bored immediately. In addition, the company uses antiquated technology that has no business being in the 21st century. While the work is easy, management treats mistakes like it's the end of the world. If you so much as omit a comma, they will be sure to let you know that your job is in jeopardy. There are also many unwritten rules within the company and it is impossible to know if you are breaking one until it is too late. Management is very passive aggressive...one person I knew had a manager who would make him redo his work if he used the wrong sized paperclip. Many people on here have said that there is a good work/life balance, but I would disagree. They will give you set hours to work, but if you leave on time, it is frowned upon. Many people slave away at their desks hours after they could have left even when there are not urgent deadlines just so they won't get into trouble. I have known people there that would work 12 hour days every day. Worst of all, management fires people in groups every couple of months. You may walk in one day and a bunch of desks will be empty. There is never a rhyme or reason for any of these firings, they just tell people they "are not a good fit." They hire really smart people but no one sticks around very long. If they are not fired, they just end up leaving on their own when they realize that their dedication and talents will be much more appreciated almost anywhere else. Lastly, you will not learn any skills at this company that are related to the outside world. This company uses a direct mail model and outdated technology that was obsolete years ago. Nothing you do at MBI is relevant anywhere else in marketing and you will likely learn useless skills that you cannot take with you when you leave.
