Pros

1. Smaller company where you can get your hands dirty with different kinds of work

Cons

1. Lack of technical leadership and direction 2. Different set of rules for different set of people 3. Too much bureaucracy 4. Lack of transparency in decision making and random rules are imposed without letting people know the reasons 5. Fixed office timings with little/no flexibility. You are also expected to work late nights and on weekends once the release deadline is approaching, 6. Too many people fired too often with random reasons. Once fired do not expect to be treated fairly - different people have been denied experience certificates and had to face salary deductions (citing random rules which aren't applicable to management) 7. The core team which created the product from scratch has left. It used to be a fun place to work where great technical minds congregated, and it's sad to see the decay. If you are planning to join the company make sure that you ask for feedback from past and current employees.

Pros

I have loved MAZ since first hearing about it and am so happy to have been part of the team! From all the cool and brilliant people that work in the office to the chic and intuitive design of the service, I have gathered and learned so much from my time at MAZ!

Cons

My desk is huge so I sometimes procrastinate on adding little desk toys so no real cons here :)

Pros

Everything at MAZ's New York office takes place in one big shared space, without so much as a single cubicle wall. Whether you want to chat with customer support team or the CEO himself, everyone is extremely accessible, and the day-to-day operations of MAZ are very collaborative. As such, you get to participate in and learn from important discussions happening across all employees' departments and areas of expertise. Working at MAZ provides a wellspring of knowledge and insight into the daily operations of startups, and young businesses writ large. Everyone here works hard, and elects to work overtime more often than not. But at the same time, my colleagues and I agree that we enjoy a really great work-life balance . The work is demanding and fulfilling at MAZ, but never unreasonable. Paul has a philosophy that people will do better work if they feel healthy and happy, and it's not just lip service. There are several landmark occasions I can readily recall where something wonderful happened and I thought to myself, "Wow -- they really do care about me here."

Cons

You have to be pretty dynamic to work here: flexible and open-minded. A desire to expand your comfort and area of expertise is crucial. In other words, it's a startup, and your workday will occasionally entail some tasks not yet in your wheelhouse. I have maybe the most multifarious role at MAZ (India and Hawaii offices included), and I absolutely love the variety. But I could imagine that some folks might prefer to just do their one thing to the exclusion of all else.
