Pros

I am super grateful for my experience at MASH because though strenuous, growth comes from challenge. I entered MASH as a Project Coordinator and grew into an Account Manager. The corporate furniture industry is sink or swim and if you're a go-getter, you can learn A-LOT here. Especially being a custom furniture design and fabrication studio, you can literally learn everything about the industry. The opportunity to gain knowledge of the industry will be directly correlated to your ambition. Additionally, if it wasn't for the tremendous support of the owner, my team and the other teams, I would never be in the position I am today. I believe if you support others, they will support you in return, which is exactly the treatment I received while I was with MASH.

Cons

Regardless of your role in the team, days are long and high pressure. You need to be your own cheerleader, enthusiast and ambitious leader to truly enjoy the work you put in at MASH. However, I believe that long days are more reflective of the industry, not the company, because MASH was for sure not the only company staying late. That said, if work remote access for it's employees would be an option, I think it could go a long way for the company's productivity, culture and growth.

Pros

Mash is a company where everyone's opinions are valued it has a family type of culture everyone knows each other. I worked there for many years and I learned how to work in a fast paced design studio environment, collaborate with different departments from engineering to business development and manufacturing facilities. As a designer you get to see your designs come to life from concept stages to production and it's all in one place; which can be very fulfilling to see all your hard work come to fruition. If you really want to work and learn more about the office furniture industry Mash Studios is a really great place to start your career. They design great quality products for their clients with authentic materials and their client list is quite impressive.

Cons

Working on a fast paced design studio has its drawbacks sometimes the workload can be overwhelming and it does get very stressful. There were times I felt like I was overworked and it was hard to balance my personal life with work. There wasn't much room for growth in my department, but some other departments do have it.

when there was revenue - the kitchen was stocked, there was enough colleagues / employees to fulfill deadlines, etc.

Cons

when the revenue dried up - so did everything else, including everyone's jobs
