Pros

I was an experienced QA Engineer turn document controller, more or less the experiences make me outstanding from normal document controller. I take initiative to manage the ISO system on my own because lack of knowledge from QA department.

Cons

1) the management have no idea what is actually document controller job. because of initiative from my part, management has verdicts that the QA part that I performed effortlessly as normal document controller job. 2) QA department has no idea what are their role. I've never seen a manufacturing company with largest conflict of interest, ever. 3) As long as you're a yes man person, the chance to climb up corporate ladder is high. even without talent, qualifications or knowledge. which is more or less some sort of insult to me. 4) the company is certified with various ISO system, but the truth is the management system was not used to maximize quality result.

Pros

Small company, so communication should be easy. That's it.

Cons

This company has a lot of problems that start from the top. Favoritism is a big issue. If the president/CEO likes you, things are okay. If not, they will make your work life very difficult. Performance reviews are done but employees never get to see the results. There is no transparency at all. Retaliation happens. I saw it myself. If you speak up or do something management does not like, there are consequences. It is not a safe place to raise concerns. The turnover is shocking. This is a small company. In 2025, almost half of the employees left because of the work environment and how poorly the company treats people. New people keep getting hired but they do not stay long. I heard that Japan headquarters sees Maruwa America employees as disposable. The turnover numbers show that this is true. Pay is below market. Maruwa Japan is known for good bonuses, but Maruwa America pays no bonus at all. Raises are rare and based on who likes you, not how well you perform. Bullying is normal here. Once you are not in favor with leadership, the treatment gets hostile. This is a pattern, not a one time thing.
