Pros
1. Stability, your job is protected even if you do the bare minimum 2. You only need to know the bare minimum to pass the interview 3. Its a good place to start your career 4. discount rate for employees if they purchase company products 5. If you have a good manager, it should be a cool place 6. They invest in Academic development of employees eg degree or certification sponsorship, though you cannot resign from the company until after X years, which isnt a bad deal Of course, i gave my best but i wrote the above to highlight how stable the company is in terms of Job security.
Cons
My review is very subjective—it's based on how I felt and what led me to leave the company. My experience does not necessarily represent the entire company's culture. 1. Career growth is limited, even with hard work. Promotions and salary raises are unlikely. 2. My direct manager often took credit for my work, making it difficult for me to stand out. 3. I felt that I was not treated equally by my manager, i experience discrimination severall, though I believe the company itself has fair policies. 4. My manager was not technically knowledgeable, which made it difficult for him to understand or appreciate the effort I put into my work. This led to a lack of trust in the team. 5. The salary was on the lower side. I only realized how underpaid I was after changing jobs, despite management presenting the pay as competitive. 6. It may not be the best place for tech-savvy and ambitious individuals since most tech projects were outsourced. 7. When positions became vacant, they were not refilled. Instead, existing employees were given additional responsibilities without extra compensation. 8. The company leans toward an older workforce, which influences the organizational culture. 9. Work-life balance was a challenge. I often worked 12–18-hour days but was still required to be in the office daily, even though my role was not client-facing. At times, it felt overwhelming. Additionally, my manager expected 24/7 availability and even routed customer support calls to employees' personal phones. 10. There was pressure to be in the office even when sick. Despite the company offering 30 days of sick leave, taking more than a few days led to judgment from my manager. This was a difficult experience that I still find troubling. 11. When I worked extra hours to meet deadlines—sometimes during holidays, weekends, or vacations—overtime pay was treated as though it was a favor from the company rather than fair compensation. Eventually, this was used against me when I experienced burnout. 12. I experienced burnout multiple times, with little concern or empathy from my manager. 13. There was a lot of gossip from my manager about colleagues and subordinates. 14. My role did not align with what I was hired to do—I spent about 80% of my time handling unrelated tasks. 15. Looking back, I regret staying at Mapfre MSV Life Malta for as long as I did. --- This version keeps your review honest and direct while maintaining professionalism.
