Pros

Formed good relations with other staff within the group.

Cons

My personal experience working at Mamas Dining Group was disappointing. During my time there, the overall structure felt disorganised, with constant staff turnover that made it difficult to maintain consistency in the venues. Communication from upper management and head office was often unclear or delayed, which added unnecessary pressure to an already fast-paced environment. I frequently experienced high stress due to understaffing and shifting expectations. There was a strong culture of working beyond rostered hours, but overtime was not recognised or supported. I also felt that the level of guidance and support from management was limited, making it challenging to do the job effectively. This review reflects my own experience, but I hope the company improves its systems and support for future staff.

Pros

One of the most positive aspects of the role was working alongside the staff across the venues. Many colleagues are hardworking and kind, and it was great collaborating with people who were committed to keeping things running smoothly during busy periods. The effort and support shown by team members on the ground was a highlight of the experience.

Cons

In my experience, the workload was consistently very high given the fast-paced nature of the business. The role often felt under-supported from an operational perspective, and there were times when I did not have the equipment or resources needed to keep up with the demands of the position. While the company places a strong focus on output and performance, it could be challenging to meet expectations despite significant effort. There also appeared to be limited emphasis on team culture or recognition of achievements, which at times made the environment feel demanding without much acknowledgment of the work being delivered.

Pros

The immediate team was extremely helpful, and supportive, which made day-to-day challenges far more manageable. Colleagues genuinely looked out for one another and created a positive working environment at ground level — though this sense of support did not extend to higher management.

Cons

The role offered little freedom for individuals to utilise their strengths or the skills they were hired for. The actual scope of work expanded well beyond what was outlined in the job description, often without clear structure, guidance, or support. Although the position was presented as part of a well-organised and collaborative team, it turned out to be far less structured than expected — even compared to previous workplaces.
