Pros

Can't think of anything positive. I feel I was reeled in during the interview process but it didn't take long for the true colours to show.

Cons

Shudder to think of my time there. Very unhappy place to work. The two directors believe their own hype but in reality are not pleasant people. They've been on a big recruitment drive recently, it will be interesting to see how long those people last before they fall out of favour.

Pros

Lysander is a welcoming, ambitious and fast-growing consultancy with a strong sense of purpose and a clear vision for the future. It offers the opportunity to work on high-quality, interesting projects across specialist sectors, while being part of a business where individuals are genuinely trusted and valued. One of Lysander’s biggest strengths is its people. There is a supportive and collaborative culture, approachable leadership, and a real sense that everyone is working together to achieve something. It is the kind of environment where hard work is recognised, ideas are welcomed, and people are given the space to take ownership and grow. For those who enjoy variety, responsibility and the chance to develop their career in a business that is evolving and building momentum, Lysander provides a strong platform and a positive place to be.

Cons

As with many growing businesses, pace and change can sometimes create pressure, and processes do not always evolve as quickly as the business itself. For some people, that can mean occasional ambiguity around responsibilities or the need to adapt quickly as priorities shift. Because Lysander is entrepreneurial and hands-on, it can suit people who are comfortable with accountability and taking initiative, but may feel less structured than a larger corporate environment. At times, workloads can be demanding, particularly during busy project periods, which is often the trade-off for being involved in high-profile work in a growing business. That said, for many people these challenges also come with opportunity, responsibility and the chance to have a real impact.

Pros

Innovation and excellence are genuinely celebrated here, not just talked about. The calibre of people across the business is extremely high, everyone is smart, capable, and committed to delivering quality. Poor performance isn’t ignored or hidden, it’s addressed decisively, which creates a culture of accountability and fairness. This is not an environment for passengers. If you’re someone who wants to coast or consistently deliver the bare minimum, this is not the company for you. However, for motivated individuals who take ownership of their work, it is incredibly rewarding. The management team is the strongest I’ve experienced. This is clearly demonstrated by the company’s profitability, continued growth, and the competitive salaries and bonuses offered. High performance is recognised and rewarded, and there are genuine opportunities for progression based on merit. Office managers across the UK and EU do an excellent job of creating welcoming, inclusive environments. People are extremely helpful to one another and there is a strong team spirit where everyone is pulling in the same direction rather than working in silos. Overall, it’s a fast-paced, high-expectation environment that suits people who enjoy being challenged and contributing to a successful, growing business.

Cons

As the company transitions from a small to a medium sized organisation, change can be challenging for some employees, particularly those who prefer less structure. While collaboration is generally strong, communication between departments could sometimes be more mindful and proactive as the organisation continues to scale.
