Pros
- Incredible team to work with - No office politics, no egos. Everyone works really hard towards a common goal. There is also no level-thinking, everyone's ideas are being heard and you can just approach any team member in any team to ask something - even the CEO, who sits smack-bang in the middle of the team in the office space. - The company is growing a lot, and there are new opportunities to grow and further yourself popping up everywhere. It doesn't matter in what position you start at Luno, if you work hard you will move forward in your career. - Yummy free lunches four times a week, and (just as good) free drinks on the balcony on Friday to end the week on a relaxing note - We have a great company culture, and I feel very well looked after as an employee. - The company offers great maternity and paternity benefits and leave to parents-to-be. If you are planning to start a family, Luno will definitely support you as an employee! I think this is very special in the start-up and fintech world.
Cons
- There is so much stuff going on at work that there is a risk that you let the company dominate your life. I really enjoy the work I do so it's tempting to allow Luno to swallow me whole, but sometimes I need to actively step back, take a breather, or a few days of leave to regain the necessary perspective on life/work. That being said, I really look forward to going back to the office after a holiday, so that is quite special in itself. I'm also in a managerial role; so it may not be quite so intense for others.
